Recruiting Letter (09/24/2008)

Fight Club goes against the grain. Scratch that, we hate the grain. We don't pander, we don't beg, we don't say please. If you want an inbox full of ass-kissing owners, that's your own choice. We don't do that. If you want a unique PM sent just for you that has your player's name in it and everything, that's your own choice. We don't operate that way. Why? Isn't it obvious?

Goal Line Blitz has thousands upon thousands of people on it. All of whom have players just as good as you, some better and some worse. Why placate you? Why pretend? We want to win and we want it more than anyone else. Want us to prove it? I can't, we just do. Do you want an active owner? An active forum? Do you want a big salary and signing bonus? Of course you do, everybody does and worse yet, everybody will claim to have all of that. Fight Club has all the amenities that every other quality winning team has.

The only thing I can say that you should really consider, which you maybe have not already considered is this: I work hard and if you appreciate a guy who does whatever he can for his team and teammates, that's something I can guarantee. If it's enough for you to have an owner you barely know, who never speaks to you about life outside of GLB, who doesn't sign on but maybe once a day... That's fine. GLB isn't life, I don't claim it to be mine and it shouldn't be. But I take the time necessary to understand all the things I do in life. If I am in charge of something, I have the sense of pride in myself to make sure the people I represent are represented well. If it's enough to have an owner who spends 30 minutes a day on GLB, if you want a team that's content to finish in 9th or 10th every season, that's fine. That's your own choice. I don't operate that way and I'd like to consider Fight Club a place where guys enjoy, experience and understand GLB in a larger and more fulfilling way.

But let's not get carried away. The reality here is this: You've already made a decision. By the time you've read this, you'll have spoken to other owners, other guys you've met on GLB, you already know where you're going and if not, you already know what you want. You either are already on board with Fight Club or you never were. You've heard my main pitch by now and it appeals to you or it doesn't. Regardless, I'll include the pertinent details so you can know where we're coming from in case you change your mind.

At Fight Club, winning is everything
By any means necessary. I will study opponents for hours. I will tweak AI every single day of my life. You cannot even begin to fathom how much time I spend on Goal Line Blitz. I'm not ashamed of that either.

Fight Club is in USA AAA1
Teams can say all they want, but any self-respecting player here on GLB knows that leagues below AAA in any region are weak and top-heavy. There may be a top team or two that could even beat Fight Club in a scrimmage but those teams below it... Those are the crap teams that couldn't hack it in AAA/Pro. Those are the gutted remnants of some poor schmuck who quit on his team and let a team for dead for another owner to scavenge upon. Do you want play against those guys? Fight Club transferred into USA AAA #1 in season 3 and hasn't looked back. If you want to play with the best, you have to play against the best. Don't settle for Canada AA 4 or SE Asia A 7. Give me a break. USA has the deepest leagues. USA BBB was created season 3 before all the other regions even had A leagues. Where do you think all those great teams get promoted? It ain't Africa AA2, I can tell you that much.

Fight Club has some of the most proactive coaches on GLB
I created the GLB Experts forum, home to some of the best and brightest on GLB you'll ever find. I've got two highly decorated and experienced coordinators whom I work with to create strategies with every single game. We're no joke.

Fight Club is playoff bound
Season 5, playoffs or bust.

Every single player on Fight Club boosts
If you don't boost every season, please X out of the window and get another job. Not joking. Well maybe only a little.

Fight Club is not just a team, it is a community
Almost everyone on my team has my screenname on AOL. If not, I keep in regular contact with them about their lives. I know their names, I know what they do for a living. I'm cool with them and it isn't just some anonymous and faceless team.

If that's not enough, good luck to you. If you're still reading, don't hesitate to get in touch with me. If you look to the left, you can find a link to my profile page, send me a PM and let's work out a deal.

Warning: If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all that claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think every thing you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told to want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned- Tyler.
