Contact your local politicians
National news and government seems to be the biggest deal and has sway in all of our lives. But don’t forget about local government. It seems small potatos, but being involved in your town (meetings, fundraisers for the party of your choice, etc…) is a GOOD thing. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find time in our busy schedules, especially those with young children. But on the other side of the coin it would be really educational to get them involved with town government. The best time as I see it is just passed the really fidgety and short attention span age, but just before puberty, by then, you’ve lost them forever until THEY have kids, lost their IROC-Z in a poker bet, which they were living in, or have a crack problem, etc… ANYWAY, The Internet is the best place to, at least contact the local politicians by email. By and large, local politicians are the easiest to contact, and if you have a complaint, you won’t be put on a List, or be phone tapped, just because you want your taxes lower than Donald Trump. He’s so filthy rich that George W. Bush has probably said to him: “hey, your influentence is so subliminable that you don’t even HAVE to pay taxes. But I prefer you give me money in a briefcase, not a sack with a dollar sign on it,” etc.. etc…
MY POINT: Contact your local politicians, even if you have no complaints, you may be surprised by how much influence you can have.
